Making plant forward food is both a form of mindfulness and a self love practice for me, and I aim to create recipes that celebrate the process and the connection with good ingredients, prepared skillfully.
I am passionate about sustainability and cultivate a close kinship with nature. My ancestors were farmers in Europe and that essential relationship with the Earth and the seasons is marked into my very DNA as a creator. And so plant foods, the most direct gifts of the Earth, are at the centre of my plate always.
My strength is creating images that highlight the textural details in food, capturing a natural style with bold shadows and colours. Faded matte filters are definitely not my thing, I am after that juicy specular highlight in a food portrait, or the story that a lifestyle image can convey.
I am a hobbit at heart, seeker of comfort in what’s on the table and in the home. If you feel kinship to this world view and want to learn how to cook with vegetables and whole grains, if you love sourdough and rustic desserts that make you want to linger around the table, then you’re in the right place.
Pull up a chair, stay a while to share a good meal in kind company, and together, we create kinship with each other and the Earth.
With warmth from my kitchen,
Diana
